If you are wondering if it is time to stop smoking what can you do to help you finally quit smoking and start to enjoy taking in that fresh air?

Some Tips to help you stop smoking for good

You may have tried many times before to end the smoking habit and quitting can be a long and hard process for some people. It can be hard when you see people around you quit smoking with ease. Everyone is different and getting a helping hand can always be a good idea. You do not need to do it alone.

Be nice to yourself. Take it slowly and cut down first. Every cigarette you don’t smoke is a small victory – these add up to a huge victory over time.

You didn’t smoke are a child and you didn’t need it then, so it isn’t a part of you. Even if you feel it is a small or large part of you, it is a part that is not connected so you can disconnect it and let it go.

    The benefits of quitting smoking

It’s always good to look at the benefits of quitting. You are not losing anything, but you have everything to gain.

Do some of these worries about cigarettes strike a chord with you?

Health worries and fears, either now or in your future. Have you seen family or friends die from smoking?

Living a full life so you can be around longer for children or your grandchildren and enjoy each other’s company.

The huge expense. How much does it cost you everyday to set fire to the sticks?

The horrible smell of stale cigarettes, and your own breath.

Plan ahead and think before you quit

Start a list about all the positives. As I say it’s not losing everything. It’s everything you gain. Start writing down all those great reasons to change your life for the better. Pin it on the fridge and see it whenever you need a boost.

Have a plan to help you so you know how you are going to quit. Speak to your doctor, pharmacist or NHS smoking support worker about things that might help you.

Give yourself a date and time for stopping. Then stop completely on that day for good.

Ask for help from friends and family. Make sure they know that you really want it and ensure they don’t smoke around you or try and get you to smoke. You want their support not their issues.

Throw away any spare cigarettes; get rid of the ash trays and lighters. You don’t need them anymore.

     Money Money Money

Keep a running tally of how much you have saved so far. Think about what you could spend that money on. Could you save for a holiday or even a car? Having that goal can really help you see the money benefit from all that cash you save.

Take it a day at a time. Feel great every extra day that you are smoke free.

If you lapse once it’s not the end of the world. Put it down to a small blip and get right back on the wagon. People talk about falling off the wagon as the end of something, but of course, you can always just get right back on it!

The most important thing of all...

What’s the most important factor? Simply that you are ready and you really want to quit smoking. Hypnosis is wonderful for helping you and giving you that extra boost. In fact it’s how I quit smoking myself! As an Ex-Smoker I know that what really made it work was that I really wanted it.

You can’t make anyone do something they do not want to do. If you think about it on a scale of 1 to 10 where are you? If it’s less than 10 then think about why? What’s the bit holding you back? Could you change that?

  2. This is perhaps one of the stranger videos that I have made. I like to be able to share thoughts and ideas about how our mind works, but sometimes I share something that talks about a real physical quirk.

Because of the way we feel things certain parts of our bodies are more inclined to be able to feel than others.

You have probably heard a lot about not being able to lick your own elbow, of course some people can do that ! However, here's another licking elbow fact for you!

Of course our fingertips are great at touch. We can tell texture and so much more...but what about our elbows!?

It's a curious fact that you cannot feel someone if they touch your elbow. In fact they can even lick it and you may not even notice.
Of course you do have to be gentle or of course they will be able to tell...but if you don't look (because your eyes will help you imagine it) then you may not be even be able to tell when it is happening!

Here's me explaining in a Youtube Video exactly how to do it and how it works !

Give it a try and let me know how you get on.
