This video shows the difference between a smoker's black lung and a healthy pink non smoker's lung.
If you are thinking of quitting smoking then perhaps an image like this can help you see exactly what is happening to you.
It's horrifying... Feel free to share with a smoker who won't thank you for it !

What does a Smoker's Lung look like?

Tobacco smoke contains over 5,000 chemicals including tar and nicotine. Smokers smoke for the nicotine but are harmed by the tar.

We know more than 70 of these chemicals cause cancer. Others are poisonous. When you smoke, these chemicals go straight into your lungs and through them to the rest of your body.

Smoking tobacco is the biggest avoidable cause of death. On average, smokers live 10 years less than non-smokers.

Looking at the video and how the lung compare...You can see for yourself the difference between the two.

The healthy lung is pink and inflates to the size that we may expect.

However, the lung of the smoker is black and struggles to inflate.

If you are a smoker and have ever wondered about giving up then perhaps now is the time to think about quitting smoking for good.

Sometimes just seeing an image such as this one can be the trigger that you need to help you towards a healthy lifestyle.

Imagine how much better for you it can be to be smoke free. When you stop smoking you find that you are not losing anything, but you do have everything to gain.
