  1. A dead bird on the stairs

    Posted on

I popped to the shops at lunchtime to grab some milk, and normally that would be the end of the story...but today was slightly different..

As I was walking past a very nice looking house there was a woman and a man standing in the front garden looking rather perturbed.

I smiled at them and they frowned back. I asked them if everything was alright.

"We can't ask him", said the woman.

"We could see!", said the man hopefully.

I asked what was up and what it was they they couldn't ask me. They explained that there was a dead bird at the bottom of the stairs and they were too scared to pick it up and dispose of it.

I smiled and said to the mand who was in his late twenties that if he didn't think he could do it I would be happy to pick it up for them.

The look of relief in their eyes was the same that I see when I explain that I can help a client overcome a problem they have carried with them for years.  I duly disposed of the bird and explained that being a hypnotherapist I knew that the fear was all in the mind. I offered them a card and explained that should they ever come across another dead bird on the stairs they could call me and I would help them to be able to do it for themselves next time. I was only getting milk between clients so I didn't really have time to go through a session with them at the time, and to be honest it did seem fairer just to dispose of it this time !

So, a normal trip to the shop left me feeling good that I had been able to help someone a little and you never know, they may decide to do something to help themselves in the future. It made me smile.....until I remember the poor dead bird of course.

  2. Can I turn a Breech Baby with hypnosis? How will it help

    Posted on

Have you been told of a possibility of a Breech Birth for your baby ?

If you are reading this article it is quite probable that you are already aware of the facts and statistics about breech babies but it is always helpful to just give a quick summary.

During the development of your baby in the womb it is quite natural that they would be in a position where their head is nearer to your head than it should be at the time of birth. It may help to think about the fact that your baby wants to have its heart nearer to your own as it grows inside you. This is quite normal for 30 and even 32 weeks into your pregnancy.

Most babies turn of their own accord, as they grow and develop in the womb.

Sometimes however this doesn’t happen at a time that you would wish, and as the baby grows it becomes harder for them to turn into a head downwards position from which they would have an easier delivery.

When this happens it can often create more worry and stress for you and that worry and stress really won’t help either you or your baby.

There are different ways in which the baby can be turned and it is important that you have spoken to your health practitioner about these and looked at what your options are. You may be considering having a external cephalic version (ECV) and of course you should be taking the appropriate medical advice for this, and any other options you have been offered.

What can I do to help myself?

You are probably already aware of how being calm, relaxed and confident about your birthing will be the best way forward for both you and your baby, but it can sometimes be difficult to get yourself into that place when you have extra worries.

As with any Natal Hypnotherapy and hypnosis it is all about teaching you the techniques to relax yourself and look forward to the birth of your child whilst releasing those worries and fears.

By teaching you relaxation and giving you the tools to be able to relax yourself it is possible that your baby may in fact turn of their own accord. Part of the reason they are unable to turn could be because you are stressed about them not turning, and of course this is a vicious cycle. It is always worth learning these techniques, because even if your baby does not turn in the womb you will be able to find ways to bring a calmer sense to yourself about what is happening and this of course will be of great benefit to both you and your baby.
