  1. What is Past Life Regression like?

    Posted on

What do you think of when you hear the words Past life regression hypnosis? Is it something that seems a little out of this world? What is past life regression hypnotherapy really like though? What do you experience and how does it relate to your life now? Is it just an entertainment or is there something deeper?

I am often asked questions about past life regression as it is a subject that people are very curious about. It isn't something that I do with many clients. In fact I don't even advertise it as being something that I do because I know that there are misconceptions about what it is for and what the purpose of going back to a past life reallly is.

The questions that get asked are often along the lines of thought that we don't really have a past life anyway. This is our only life so unless you believe that you lived other lives it just won't work.  The thing is that I don't think we are reincarnated from a previous life as an ancient Egyptian or servant in a castle in the middle ages...and yet I do past life work with clients...why?

Well, as an experience it can in fact be very enlightening. When in a calm state of relaxation our minds are open to thoughts and suggestions and the ideas that come out often relate to our lives now in a way that we would not have thought. So, in fact past life regression hypnosis is helping you to deal with this life.

Here is an example. A recent client who saw me for some past life work wrote a blog about her experiences, here are some of the thoughts that she put down on paper...

"I recently had a very interesting experience. I had a session of past life regression. Now I don’t believe in things like this but I am willing to try most things.

The mind is a very powerful thing and I believe that my “past” has given me a few clues as to how to deal with the present. Is this my subconscious trying to tell me something?

The session started with me being in a comfortable position, eyes closed and listening to some relaxing music. Mark got me into a very relaxed state and had me focussing on a safe place for me to be in. It all sounds a little strange and wacky but in a weird way I enjoyed it. I don’t want to tell you all about the session but I felt a very strong pulling feeling and a clear sense of being alone.

What I learnt from this experience can help me in this life. I had run away from something or someone. Something I should have stayed to deal with. The consequence was that I was alone, content but not happy. I interpret this as running away is not the answer, stay and face things, deal with them and then things will be better.

I came around from the session feeling absolutely fine. I would definitely do it again."

As you can see for yourself what really happens is that you connect yourself to things that relate to the now. Often you can make a change when you see the things that are holding you back and you may even realise why that is.

I only work on past life regression with clients that have worked with me before because I think that being open to the thoughts and comfortable is something that really benefits the session. The trust element is very important to how well the session works. For this reason and because it is a specialised area I offer a two session package that includes an introductory session and hypnosis recording as well as recording the session of past life work that takes place in the second session.
