    Have you ever found yourself out of your depth in water? You perhaps tried to put your feet down and realised that the water was deeper than you thought. Now feelings of panic start to run through you as you imagine that the water is so deep that you just don’t know what to do. One of the most common fears and phobias that I am asked for help with is a fear of deep water.

    What can I do to help me with my fear of water?

    If you want to be able to swim in a swimming pool, or in the sea on holiday without fear and simply enjoy the experience you may be surprised to hear that overcoming your fear is easier than you may have first thought.

    I actually see more people for nerves, stress and anxiety and all the issues that this raises because of fears and phobias than you may realise. Any fear can get worse and as one of deep water is much more common that you may realise, this means it is easier to get rid of than you may imagine. You are not alone..

    Any fear or phobia is something you have learned. This means if you learned it, you can unlearn it.

    On average people have 3-4 sessions and many see things could be different after the first session. I also record any sessions that we do so that you have something to listen to in between and this really helps. Of course the number of sessions depends on what it is we are working on.  

    Often one incident can trigger a situation that just gets worse. I see so many people who had one bad experience and found that it has stuck with them. Once we get you past that sticking block you can let go and enjoy being in the water and relaxing.

  2. BBC Hereford and Worcester interview about Spider Phobias

    The news this week featured a woman who overcame a fear of spiders, also known as Arachnophobia and now has over 50 taratulas who live with her.

    I got the early morning call from BBC Hereford and Worcester to talk all about phobias and the fact that you can let go of them.

    The truth is that any fear or phobia is something that you learned at some point. You were not born with it. That means that you can also learn to let it go and move on.
