Online Therapy due to Covid – How does Coronavirus affect having therapy sessions?

As time ticks on and more and more people start to become aware of how the lockdowns and restrictions due to covid are affecting their mental health, many people are thinking about how to access help during this time. It could be the first time you have ever searched online for help with your own mental health, or perhaps you are looking for help for a family member or friend.

How does Online Skype Hypnosis work

The rules which sometimes have allowed people to have one to one therapy and counselling sessions in person have changed, but sometimes even when things are safe, it may not feel right for you to see someone in person. It could perhaps add to the stress and anxiety of the moment.

If you are dealing with stress and anxiety then using online therapy is a great way to be able to share your worries and learn some ways to deal with them.

I first started using Skype for online Hypnotherapy sessions nearly ten years ago so it isn’t something new to me. Of course the difference now is that rather than work with people around the world some of the people I can help would be the ones that would come and see me in person. Over the years I have worked with people in the USA, Australia, all across Europe and Asia and South Africa, but now I can help everyone.

How does online hypnosis work?

One of the things that I have found over the years is that making people recordings of hypnosis that we do is a great way for people to have something to practice with at home. This way you can benefit from the talking therapy part of what we do when we chat, and also have something to help cement the work we do. Having a recording of your hypnosis session is a huge bonus and working on Skype means that after a Skype hypnotherapy session I will send you a recording made especially for you.

How about other techniques?

As a Clinical Hypnotherapist who has been trained in many different techniques and has is now in his second decade of practice I have what you may describe as a toolbox of techniques that can help. This means that as well as using hypnosis I can help you with EFT, EMDR and many other techniques with strange initials too! The names of the techniques are not really important. What is important is that there are many different was to help and just the talking part of things often helps people to see that things can be different and better for you after just the first session. We can talk all about how Meditation online and learning Mindfulness can help you to learn to let go and relax much more than you imagined.
